Admission Requirements for the Honors Program

The College Honors Program is open to any continuing Letters and Science student with a cumulative UCSB grade-point average of 3.5 on a minimum of 12 letter-graded UC baccalaureate units.

Entering first-year students are invited into the College Honors Program based upon a comprehensive review of the application for UC admission.

In the typical entering freshman class, 10 percent of the students are in the College Honors Program. Eligible students will be invited automatically to the Letters and Science Honors Program and will be notified in March. A separate application is not required.

Transfer students entering UCSB with a 3.6 GPA from their previous college (3.5 GPA if from another UC) are invited into the College Honors Program.

Regents Scholars in the College of Letters and Science are automatically admitted to the College Honors Program.
