Raise Funds for Cancer Research: Join the Relay for Life Walkathon

One in three Americans will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. Many of us have been affected by cancer, either personally or with the diagnosis of a loved one. UCSB's 3rd annual Relay For Life walkathon is your chance to join UCSB's college community in the fight against cancer and to work toward a cure. UCSB's 3rd annual Relay For Life will take place at UCSB's track and field track, beginning at 10 a.m. on May 21st. This 24-hour walkathon event raises money for cancer research, offering free food, overnight camping, games, musical performances, and live entertainment for all participants. Students and faculty are encouraged to form teams of 8-12 people to participate and walk in the event. Each team will raise money through online donations, and all the money that is generated will go directly to cancer research funded by the American Cancer Society. The American Cancer Society Relay For Life represents the hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported, and that one day cancer will be eliminated. To learn more about the event, or to register or join a team, please visit www.acsevents.org/relay/ca/ucsb, or contact UCSB's Colleges Against Cancer president, Patrick Male, at patrick-j-male@umail.ucsb.edu.
