Honors Match Program
Congratulations on your acceptance into the College Honors Program! Exciting opportunities await you at UCSB. One such exciting opportunity is the Honors Match Program. This mentorship program is in its ninth year and is enjoying tremendous popularity and success. If you choose to participate in this program, you will be matched with a current UCSB honors student who will serve as your mentor during fall quarter. New students will be matched with mentors according to similar interests and academic/career goals. Your mentor will be available to answer questions and help you succeed as you become part of the UCSB community. The mentors who participate in this program are eager to be a resource for you during your transition. Mentors are happy to pass along tips and useful information - anything from their favorite professors
and how to register for classes, to the best restaurants in Isla Vista and when to go to the gym. Mentors can also be supportive friends when you are feeling stressed or have a fun story to share.
By completing the student profile, you will indicate your interest in having a mentor for fall 2008. We will use the information you provide on your student profile to match you with a mentor. Since mentors are looking forward to being matched with a new student and will devote their time and energy to this program, we ask that you apply for a mentor only if you plan to be an active participant.
The Honors Match Program was designed to build a community within the honors program. You can then send it to honorsmail@LTSC.ucsb.edu as an attachment or either mail, or fax it to the honors program. The application is due Friday, July 27th by 4:00pm.
