Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities Offers Enrichment Opportunities for UCSB Students

Office hours are posted on the appropriate program page on the UCDC website: http://www.ltsc.ucsb.edu/urca/ucdc.php Campus-wide Undergraduate Research ColloquiumThe 18th Annual Undergraduate Research Colloquium, sponsored by the College of Letters and Science and the Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities Office, is scheduled for Thursday, May 15, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Corwin Pavilion. A reception will follow at Lagoon Plaza. This year’s colloquium will feature poster presentations by students who have done undergraduate research. Website: http://www.ltsc.ucsb.edu/urca/colloquium.php The Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities (URCA) Summer 2008 Grant ProgramThe Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities (URCA) Office is excited to announce the availability of funding to support an ongoing or one-time summer research project during Summer 2008. All continuing Letters and Science undergraduates (returning Fall 2008) are eligible to apply for research funding. Award limitations are $500 for individual and $1,000 for group projects. The application deadline is Friday, May 23, 2008. The application guidelines and materials are available on the URCA web site, www.advising.ltsc.ucsb.edu/urca, or stop by the URCA Office, North Hall 2105, to speak with an URCA representative regarding the application process. URCA Announces Scholarships DeadlinesThe UCSB campus application deadline for the Rhodes, Marshall, Mitchell, and Churchill scholarships for graduate study in the British Isles is September 8, 2008. Interested students should check the URCA web site, www.ltsc.ucsb.edu/urca, for details on these and other scholarship opportunities. The UC Center in Sacramento ProgramAre you looking for a way to gain valuable professional experience and, at the same time, receive full academic credit at UCSB? Do you want an opportunity to observe public policy processes firsthand and to gain a wide variety of cultural experiences? Then consider joining students from other UC campuses at the University of California Center in Sacramento (UCCS) Intern Program. This program, offered by the UC Office of the President, provides undergraduates the opportunity to gain valuable professional experience and, at the same time, receive full academic credit.
